Membership in the Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club is open to people who have an expressed interest in the objectives of the Club, and who are in good standing with the greater rock hounding community including the owners of potential field trip properties. It is not necessary to be a resident of the Copper Country. The Club has members from as far away as Texas.

Procedure

  • The first step is to obtain a membership application by attending a Club meeting or the Gem and Mineral Show and requesting on, or by printing the .pdf file which can be found on this website.
  • The completed application should be submitted to the Club at a meeting or the Show, or it can be mailed/emailed to the President at the address found on this site.
  • The application will be reviewed by our Membership Committee. Within a month the Committee will inform you of their decision and if it is approved how the Membership Fee can be paid.

Dues

Annual Dues:
Effective January 1st through December 31st, of each year.
Dues paid for a partial year are the same annual rate. New members join at a rate of $15 per person, or $25 per family, and have a 30-day activation period, following notice of approval, before attending the field trip. New member dues paid at or after the Gem and Mineral are good for the remainder of the year and the following year

Memberships are:
Individual: adult 18 or older.
Or
Family: a family is one or two adults along with any dependent children under the age of 18 who reside in the household with the parents

Status is determined as follows:

Active Member:
Renews before January 1st. Based on the previous year’s activity. (member attended 3 or more meetings during the last 12 months), and worked on the annual show, or served on CCRMC Board of Directors). May attend any or all Club activities at the cost per person for that activity.
NOTE to attend the “Grunt” must have worked at least two shifts at the show.

Supporting Member:
Renews before January 1st. The member was not able to attend 3 club meetings in the last 12 months but can work on the annual show. May attend one excavated club field trip per year, the annual meeting, and the “Grunt” at the cost per person for each.

Non-Active or “New” Member:
Joins or renews before January 1st. Is unable to attend meetings; does not work on annual show; does not serve on CCRMC Board of Directors. May attend one excavated club field trip per year at the cost per person.

The renewal rate on January 1st of each year is based on member’s participation in the previous year. “Renewal” refers to dues (of existing members) received before January 1st of the next membership year. After January 1st, membership is considered lapsed, and the former members must re-join at “new member non-active status”.
