Welcome to the Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club web site. If you share our passion for rock collecting you have come to the right place. If you have no experience but have always been curious about those “neat looking rocks” you see, you have come to the right place.

Located in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we proudly refer to ourselves as “Yoopers”. The Keweenaw Peninsula is one of the largest copper-producing locations in the world. Numerous “poor rock” piles contain copper specimens ranging from amorphous “float” copper to intricate copper crystals. A variety of other minerals including datolites and if you are lucky, silver can be found.

We are family-oriented and welcome new members regardless of your experience. For those members who can qualify for and participate in our field trips, our experienced members are always available to help you get started.

More details about the many types of minerals you can find and how to become a member can be found within this site.
